Mushrooms in the News: 6-17-19

A Blended Burger Project participant from Biloxi, Mississippi, gained recognition this week for their blended burger, which was named “Best of the Fest,” at the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival. Executive Chef Kristian Wade says “A blended burger brings more sustainable, plant-based items to menus allowing Americans to enjoy the taste and flavor of the burgers they love, knowing it’s a healthier and more sustainable preparation.”

Additionally, BBP local market coverage appeared in Minneapolis and Omaha.





The 5th annual Veal and Mushroom Council summer grilling promotion kicked off this week. Now through Sept. 3, specially marked packs of veal at participating grocers will feature a Grilled Blended Meatballs recipe developed exclusively for Mushroom Council and Beef Checkoff by influencer and grilling expert Jess Pryles. Participating customers can enter the on-pack sweepstakes for a chance to win $500 in free groceries.
