Mushrooms in the News: 02-22-2021

Chicago Tribune informed readers on the health benefits of mushrooms in a recent online article, explaining that “Mushrooms are low in calories and sodium and free of both fat and cholesterol, making them a great addition to any healthy diet.”

Chef Bob Repp of Hops at 84 East, one of the 2019 Blended Burger Project winners, was featured in Intermezzo Magazine. Additionally, the magazine shared a recipe for his winning burger, the Trumpet Blended Burger.

QSR Magazine shared news of the launch of Jersey Mike’s Subs Grilled Portabella Mushroom and Swiss Sub. In addition to the mention of the Mushroom Council in the article, the Council is working behind the scenes with Jersey Mike’s to promote the sandwich.
