The Packer highlighted the Mushroom Council’s forthcoming marketing initiative, Mushroom Monday. The article, Meet ‘Taco Tuesday’s next-door neighbor,’ Mushroom Monday, gives readers the inside scoop on what’s ahead for the Mushroom Council in 2024. “From fancy to fast food, we want (Mushroom Monday) to amplify what restaurants and professional chefs are doing with mushrooms. Whether it’s a center-of-plate grilled portabella ‘burger’ or a featured topping on traditional staples like pizzas and pastas, (Mushroom Monday) will help restaurants attract customers looking to satisfy their mushroom cravings.”

Mushrooms continue to top 2024 trend lists with features in three major media outlets.

Real Simple in “Mushrooms are 2024’s Latest Food Craze” shared why consumers should be reaching for more mushrooms and how to cook with them. “Not only are mushrooms a nutritional powerhouse, but their hearty texture helps fill you up, and they’re a versatile ingredient to incorporate in many dishes for an extra boost of flavor.”

Time magazine in its “2024 Food and Drink Trends” notes consumers will have more fun with fungi sharing, “In 2024, more of us will embrace fungi, and mushrooms will shine as a meat replacement.”

VegNews’ headline reads “Why Mushrooms are Set to Dominate” in its  VegNews Vegan Predictions for 2024. “Brands are going to be hot on using mushrooms in every which way throughout 2024.”
