Tis the season to celebrate with family and friends – what better way than tasty meals with mushrooms! Whether you are putting together a spread for snacking, seasonal favorites, or vegetarian options, Mushrooms in Schools has great recipes to share with those you love most.
After sifting through our recipe collection, we are sharing our family favorites. Here are Mushrooms in Schools’ Top 10 family recipes:
1) Charcuterie Boards
Charcuterie Boards are a fan favorite because family and friends can make their own meal. To wow the crowd, add various textures and colors to the spread. When planning a holiday gathering this season, try adding one of these tried and true recipes to your menu:
Portabella mushrooms transform into an easy-to-make, craveable snack with this jerky recipe!
This bean dip can be served warm or chilled! Cannellini beans are blended with herbs, spices, and a touch of tangy Greek yogurt. It’s served with a generous topping of meaty sauteed mushrooms. Pair it with your favorite whole grain tortilla chips or crackers.
These meatballs are so easy and bake to perfection, and then simmer in an out-of-this-world honey bourbon barbecue sauce!
We always say yes please to cheese! Combine melty brie cheese and crispy mushrooms for the perfect winter cheese plate.

Need we say more? Warm up with this comforting favorite recipe!
3) Mushroom Pizza Rolls
Involve the whole family in making these homemade pizza rolls. Children will enjoy witnessing the magic of bread baking as they help knead the dough and add the fillings. These rolls make a filling snack or serve them with a salad for a meal. Be sure to add some extra warmed pizza sauce on the side for dipping.
4) Air-Fryer Chicken Fried Steaks
These mushroom steaks are so savory and satisfying. Serve them as you would chicken fried steak–they will do your gravy proud. Yes you read right – this is a yummy vegetarian recipe – just tastes like chicken.
5) Loaded Macaroni & Cheese
The ultimate comfort food, this creamy mac & cheese is taken to the next level with crispy bacon, mushrooms and tasty red potatoes. Perfect for a chilly weeknight in or weekend gameday!
6) Breakfast Sausage
Do you have a holiday breakfast planned? Add this breakfast sausage recipe to your menu.
7) Sausage & Mushrooms Frittata
This frittata features hearty red potatoes, savory sausage blended with meaty mushrooms, and tangy goat cheese. Serve for brunch alongside fresh fruit or enjoy for dinner with a side salad.
8) Sausage Stuffed Portabella Mushrooms
Portabella mushrooms stuffed with a mixture of Italian sausage, finely chopped mushroom, onion, bell pepper and garlic then roasted in the oven until golden brown. Leave off the optional panko breadcrumbs and it’s paleo, gluten free, low carb and Whole30!
9) Mushroom Marinara Ravioli
This ravioli is stuffed with a savory blend of mushrooms and herbs. Wonton wrappers make a simple substitute for fresh pasta, but feel free to use fresh pasta dough from the store or make your own. The final dish is served with a simple, rich tomato sauce and more sautéed mushrooms.

This minestrone is spiked with loads of dried herbs, beautiful and colorful rainbow chard, cannellini beans for some heftiness and lots of mushrooms.
