    Pre-School Lessons

    Lesson 1: Students will use science to explore how mushrooms are grown and their benefits through watching a video and engaging in activities.

    Lesson 2: Students will use their five senses to learn about mushrooms using science-based activities.

    Lesson 3: Using science and math, students will learn to cook with mushrooms through hands-on activities.

    Grades K-2 Lessons

    Lesson 1: Your students will become scientists through engaging activities/handouts and experiencing a virtual farm tour.

    Lesson 2: This lesson is packed with activities engaging your students in language arts and science to learn about different mushroom varieties.

    Lesson 3: Students will use language arts, math, and science to explore and cook with mushrooms with hands-on activities.

    Grades 3-5 Lessons

    Lesson 1: Take your students on a virtual farm tour and lead a mushroom walk to explore the science of mushrooms and how they grow.

    Lesson 2: Your students will utilize language arts and science skills to learn about the classification of mushrooms through activities and handouts.

    Lesson 3: This lesson uses math, science, and language arts in a fun, hands-on activity like cooking with mushrooms and solving the case of the Missing Measuring Cups.

    Middle School Lessons

    Lesson 1: Engage your students with interactive activities, games, and discussions, investigating mushrooms, while utilizing science and language arts skills.

    Lesson 2: This lesson will explore how mushrooms are grown, utilized, and their sustainability through the use of science and language arts activities and discussions.

    Lesson 3: Students will use all five senses to experience mushrooms through activity sheets utilizing math, science, and language arts skills.

    Lesson 4: In the final lesson, students will engage in activities and discussions exploring careers and entrepreneurial opportunities in the mushroom industry through language arts and math.

    High School Unit

    Students will investigate mushrooms and their role in personal nutrition through customizable lessons, including web exploration, discussion, and a variety of activities that will utilize science, language arts, and more.

    Bingo Card for Elementary Students
    Use our bingo card for a fun competition to try new foods. As your students try new food items (and learn about the nutritional benefits) for the week, they can mark each food to win BINGO!

    Nutrition Passport for Secondary Students
    Students will identify their favorite foods and meals that include vitamins and minerals as well as learning about RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance). As the students try new foods, they can stamp off another vitamin or mineral on their journey to support their immune system. This booklet is easy to print (using only 2 pages!) and fold!
