Tracker Highlights – Period ending 02/23/2025

Produced every four weeks, the Retail Tracker Report provides insight into category dollar sales, segment and variety sales, average price per pound, and other helpful metrics.
Consumer confidence fell substantially in February. A 9.8% decline from January represents the lowest reading since late 2023.
Ongoing inflation in grocery basics, tariff negotiations and employment uncertainty is driving consumer concern.
In response, the nation’s eye continues to be on sales promotions and money-saving measures including eating restaurant food less often.
Quad week two brought the anticipated drop in volume from the January levels. Sales also fell year-over-year in dollars, units and pounds.
Organic remained an area of growth, but all varieties, including white, brown and specialty mushrooms experienced sales declines.
